Today's tasks.

THERMOCOUPLE SET UP: Silvia will kindly help up and will provide extension cables and male connectors in exchange of teaching her the complete use of one of her thermometers. We just have to buy the females.
TOOL PROGRESS: It was finished @ 12hr.
MATERIAL FOR FSW AND FSSW: We have enough material for FSW. We need to check material available for FSSW, probably the thin bar Alvaro bought will do. We have to check its specs.
INMEC CONTACT: Gerardo is still in Mexico City, but they will provide the heat treatment service to us. We'll drop the tools today @ 17hr.
THERMO MANUAL READING FOR SILVIA: In progress...
MEETING WITH ANTONIO SILVA: We had the meeting to reschedule our taking the samples to his lab. The analisys will take place next Wednesday.
MEETING WITH DR. ROMERO: Everything goes as planned. He showed us a format for the final presentation. And will help us make our final report.

New responsabilities.

To improve our work Rod and I suggested the assingment of the tests we will perform to each of us, so we will be responsible to set everything up to make the tests. This doesn't mean we'll work alone, we can do things in teams or go all together to all places, but some of us will be responsible for that specefic kind of test. Man!! Did I get Across?? Anyways, the assigning will be the following:
A C JP - TemperatureTest.
JW R A - Residual Stress Test.
JW R A - Tensil Test.
R A JW - Bending Test.
C JP - Microstructure Test.
C JP - X-Ray Test (Phase change).
C JP - Porosity.
A JW - Roughness.
A JW - Hardness.

Where the letters in front of each test stand for our names.
Cheers.

Today's Tasks.

THERMOCOUPLE SET UP: Meeting with silvia Mtz was cancelled due to her unavailability, we'll meet up tomorrow morning.
MATERIAL DISCUSSION: we'll make at least 27 samples, select the best from each tip design and repeat the test to measure temperature and tensil and residual stress.
SETTING PLATES UP: Alvaro and I worked on them. We cut them and removed flash. They are ready for the tests.
TOOL MAKING PROGRESS: 25% by 15hr. Update: It broke @ 15:30hr. Tono will cut the part and start over.
INMEC CONTACT: They'll schedule amachine for our use.Update: Contact hasn't been made.
HEAT TREATMENT: Not possible since the tool is not finished.

Unfortunately the thread was too deep and it had a big space between the actual threads. And it broke.

We sort of got professional help to make the tool.

Alvaro working on the tool.

Alvero and I prepared the plates for the good tests.
